Real Terrorists and False Agents of Change

So as the world spins out of control, and America is falling into the hands of the corporate juggernauts, all the leaders of the loyal opposition can do us distract America with false hopes of change. But still as the country falls deeper in recession, the world becomes increasing more volatile, and the world looks as America as an imperial power, these so called candidates of change are not offering anything new. Just the same old rhetoric.

So who are the real terrorists...

And why does not anyone of the candidates of change really speak about the horrible reality dictated by the corporate elite. Truth be told is that they are a part of that system and to really question the system would result in the loss of their power.

However, we as a people can change it, but only if we act out and demand a new reality. Remember to confront the politicians when they are talking about change. When they talk about alternative energy do they mean "clean coal"(if there could be such a thing), nuclear(Mr Obama), or ethanol(which continues to support the mechanisms of the giant agribusiness like Monsanto, Cargill, and ADM which have been uprooting Americas family farmer for the last century)?

Or when they talk about helping out the poor, are they wearing suits and clothing that costs the same as someones rent, or living in palatial palaces. Many of the politicians of the day, come from the same class of people who have benefited from the system the way it is so why would they really want to change it.

Look behind the curtain and see who really is the wizard, and then too maybe you will vote and speak for real change. Think outside the box and the two party system, for you can't fix the problems with the methods that created the problems.

Spring Cleaning the State House

Last week the 2007-2008 Vermont General Assembly Biennium reached its climax and adjourned. The mainstream party leaders praised their members for jobs well done despite leaving Vermonters, the environment, labor, education and health care dangling on morsels left over from years past. So much time and baseless words mouthed; nevertheless they have just conceded to the powers above and capitulated to the principles of an obstructionist governor.

For the last few months I have worked beneath the Golden Dome, and upon entering my service I had a sense of hope for the potential promise of success. Unfortunately, despite working with a few highly intelligent and dedicated individuals, I soon found out that there is no room for logic or intelligence in these halls, just baseless partisan rhetoric and politics as usual.

So Vermont is left with weakened environmental laws, dilapidated roads, costly health care, and a spiraling downward economy. But hey, at least there is one benefit from the Legislature adjourning early, and that is they can not screw anything else up. Luckily for now, Montpelier is returning to its quite small town feel. Just in time and by coincidence, Montpelierites had their cleansing ceremony on the State House lawn this past Sunday. The picture above is from “All Species Day” a celebration of the coming of spring, but how appropriate that it came the day after the legislature adjourned. Maybe, this year will bring new things, and for once the traditional party politics of obstruction and denial will give way to a progressive agenda looking out for the people’s agenda and not some egotistical power grab.
